Michael Nicholson and the remaining Board members are long past their sell by date in more ways than one. Their shambolic running of the club over many seasons has resulted in a failure for us to compete at any serious level on the European football stage.  Nicholson’s utter lack of vision and leadership and failure to develop has led to the shambolic season we have all endured.  While this team stumbles from one week to the next, Season Ticket renewal notices will soon be arriving in your inbox and this offers us all the opportunity to show the Board, allegedly led by the perennially-silent Michael Nicholson, that we are not going to accept their pathetic performance any longer.

The Delay ‘til the Final Day campaign, is based on a number of principles:

  1. It gives all Season Ticket holders an opportunity to show that the dissatisfaction about the current season’s performance, as well as long-standing concerns about poor corporate governance at Celtic, is wider than just the members of the Collective.
  1. It costs Season Ticket holders absolutely nothing and does not endanger their ability to follow Celtic next season in any way whatsoever.
  1. It interferes with the planning of the Celtic Board in terms of the expected cash flow over the renewal period.

We are not foolish enough to think that this tactic, in and of itself, will be enough to force change, but taken together with all the other tactics already in play and still to come, it keeps up pressure on the Celtic Board and ensures that our voice is backed up by concrete action by a wide swathe of the Celtic Support.

The Not Another Penny campaign has been incredibly successful in terms of the impact on merchandising and sales and we thank everyone who has stuck to that throughout the season.  That campaign will be expanded very soon by including Celtic’s digital endeavours which seek to monetise our data.  There will be news on that one shortly but be assured it is another one which will cost you nothing at all and neither will it interfere with match-day outcomes.

If you are one of the few people still on the interest-free scheme from Celtic then please don’t come off that because that will have an impact on you in the future.  Further, if delaying your renewal to the final day causes you any financial problems at all, then please don’t do it.  We are not asking people to make any sacrifices for this but for most of us this is completely easy and cost-free to do.  Just don’t renew until the last day or as close as you can without causing yourself any problems.  Please spread the word and please DELAY ‘til THE FINAL DAY and lets get this Board told that we have had enough and we want change.

  1. Where is the concern for the majority of supporters here ? You cannot seriously be suggesting that every single season ticket holder holds out until deadline day, then all jump on the website at the same time ?
What about the people who inevitably miss the deadline when the website crashes ?
Agreed that there are issues with the club that need addressing but this is farcical

    1. The renewal period has to be honoured and it is up to the Club to deal with any technical problems. You may recall that they have extended the deadline several times in the past.

  2. Ive been thinking about the renewal this will suit me fine keep up the pressure on the board they have no problem in blanket blame and the only time they have raised there voice all season is to berated the fans havent backed managers good managers proven managers sick to death of them

  3. Ironically Celtic’s ticketing system is so fundamentally broken that I was unable to purchase a semi final ticket.
Their failures, increasingly widespread, make this noble effort a surprisingly risky move.
In all likelihood many of us will need to give ourselves enough time to physically make it to the inadequate and embarrassing Celtic Park ticket office preparing for the website to fail. Whether on the last renewal day or as close as possible to it.
    Until the last rebel.

  4. The real challenge and pressure push on the board is to threaten them that 40 thousand do not to renew
    That should be the goal
That removes the board, not oh we will give you your money but you have to wait ? They can still plan to spend nothing !!

  5. I get why people are angry, but this plan isn’t as simple as it sounds.
Delaying season ticket renewals might not cost fans directly, but it could mess with the club’s planning and budget. That can easily backfire and hurt the team more than the board.
Also, if everyone still renews anyway, just later, does it really change anything? It might not have the impact people think.
There’s valid criticism of Michael Nicholson and the board, but blaming them for everything ignores bigger issues like recruitment and performances on the pitch.
Fans have every right to demand better but this approach might not actually achieve that.

  6. I get why people are raging, but this just feels like a stunt more than anything.
Delaying renewals doesn’t magically hurt the board—it just creates uncertainty around budgets and planning, which can end up hurting the team instead. That’s the opposite of what anyone wants.
And if everyone still renews anyway, just later, what’s the actual point? The money still lands. It’s not exactly going to shake things up.
There’s definitely questions to be asked of Michael Nicholson and the board, but acting like they’re the only issue ignores what’s happening on the pitch too.
Feels more like frustration being vented than something that’ll actually lead to change.

  7. This seems like a good way for disgruntled season ticket holders to send a clear message to the board that they are unhappy with their behaviour and their reaction to justified supporter concerns. If you are in the disgruntled camp, why not take this opportunity to make your feelings known HH

  8. I was a season ticket holder since 1963 section B row C main stand and Peter Lawwel decided that I was being moved to the upper tier north curve I’m talking about 16 years ago I have never gone back I watch every game on my telly I’m 64 now and there’s no chance of ever going back I agree with everything you are doing I was a black taxi driver and Peter reported me for asking a question I was personal friend of John Reid former chairman who brought Mr Wilson too the club
